Thirty-Nine Episode 3 Recap

Thirty-Nine Episode 3 was out on 23rd February 2022 and was titled “Something I Had Never Thought Of“. As the title suggests, the events of this episode were something that none of the friends have ever thought of. The episode begins with a flashback where the girls talk about who will live a long life and who will hold the funeral for the others. Here, Chan-young is granted a longer life than two through a round of rock-paper scissors. Ironic, isn’t it? At the present time, Mi-jo leaves Jin-seok’s office in a devastated state and Seon-woo requests her to let him drive to her friend’s home as she decides to drop by Chan-young’s.

At Chan-young’s house, Mi-jo overhears the former’s conversation with Jin-seok’s wife, Seon-joo where the latter says filthy things about Chan-young and sarcastically asks her to behave as one never knows how much life they have in their destiny. This makes Mi-jo lose her control and she slaps Seon-joo. As a result, the latter reports Mi-jo for assault, and the three of them end up in a police station. Mi-jo’s behavior throughout the night and the following day stresses everyone. In the meantime, Seon-woo tries to make her happy and he finally succeeds when Mi-jo shares her feelings about Chan-young’s illness.

Throughout the episode, Mi-jo suffers from emotional pain as she is unable to face her friend and tell her about the latter’s medical condition. On the other hand, Jin-seok is equally worried about Mi-jo but he is yet to know the reason behind it. In between the sad parts, things between Joo-hee and Hyun-joon takes a new level as the latter wants to impress her. In the final moments of the episode, Mi-jo walks into Chan-young‘s apartment and reveals her medical condition.
