Where Was Captain Nova Filmed? All Locations Revealed!!

Where Was Captain Nova Filmed? ‘Captain Nova,’ directed by Maurice Trouwborst of the Netherlands, is a dismal and ambient step into the emerging genre of climate-conscious science fiction films. Nova is a fighter pilot in a post-apocalyptic future marked by an industrialized north pole, and the film takes us there. Nova travels back in time to prevent the calamity and tracks out the corporation responsible.

She returns to a lush green area, but no one believes her because her age has been reduced by journeying in the past. The famous film premiered at the Cinekid film festival in the Netherlands, where it received numerous honors. The filmmaker wanted to create a natural mood without using any visual effects. Amsterdam, Netherlands

The film was shot in Amsterdam for a large amount of time. The bustling capital of the Netherlands is recognized for its intricate network of canals and centuries-old cultural legacy. The crew shot in some of the city’s most iconic spots and worked with a few local companies. The dark mood of the industrial north pole was set against the backdrop of the historic Hemweg power plant (Kraftwerk Hemweg), a power station located at Petroleumhavenweg 1 in the Hemweg neighborhood of Amsterdam. Polar vistas, like the breath clouds of Nova and Nas, were added later in post-production. The credit list also includes Fleur Sophie Boots, a shoemaker in Funenpark 347 in Amsterdam. The shop, however, is now permanently closed.

Other Locations in the Netherlands

Utrecht, another prominent Dutch province, was used to film several sequences in the film. The eponymous city, replete with a medieval core, sits in its heart. It’s roughly 44 kilometers south of Amsterdam. The Utrecht Landscape Foundation, a landscaper, located at Bunnikseweg 39 in De Bilt, a town and municipality in the province of Utrecht, assisted the cast and crew.

Filming also took place on the grounds of Park Vliegbasis Soesterberg, a former airbase that has been transformed into a park. The historic site is located in Soest, a municipality in the Utrecht province. With a few exclusions, the park is normally available to the public. The crew took great care to protect the natural resources around them during filming.

In addition, the filmmaking crew received assistance from Staatsbosbeheer, a Dutch government agency in charge of forestry and natural reserves. They couldn’t find an office facility to double as the bad corporation in the movie due to the lockdown. As a result, they shot the moments in a country house, possibly somewhere within Staatsbosbeheer’s 250,000-hectare preserve in the Netherlands.
