Thirty-Nine Episode 3 will be an interesting watch as the latest K-drama has gathered appreciation since the day its trailer was launched. Thirty-Nine Episode 1 Recap

The first episode of Thirty-Nine was out on 16th February 2022. As the title “Thirty-Nine” suggests, the episode was a deep and clear insight into the lives of the protagonists. The episode starts with Mi-jo‘s narration in the background of a funeral scene. This is a hint about what will happen in the future and the story till then will probably be told as an event to be recalled. Later on, the three of them meet up at Mi-jo’s clinic to celebrate her sabbatical leave.

Me-jo is soon to leave for the US for a year-long break. However, they end up at the police station due to some misunderstanding with a client. In these scenes, we are told that Mi-jo is an adopted child whereas Chan-young is dating a married man. The episode is filled with instances where both of them bicker about Chan-young being in love with a married man. Although the friends have differences in opinion, they are seen sticking together for each other. Moving forward with the story, the three of them meet Kim Seon-woo at an orphanage.

Things between Mi-jo and Seon-woo take a different direction in the episode only for them to realize at the end that the latter is going to be the new director of Mi-jo’s clinic for the next year. Some sweet and romantic moments are shown between the two, however, the uncertainty of feelings stopped them from going any further. On the other hand, Chan-young has an encounter with her lover’s wife at his office and she had a reality check moment. Hence, towards the end of the episode, she is seen asking Jin-seok to either divorce his wife or call it a quit with her.

Thirty-Nine Episode 2 Recap

Thirty-Nine Episode 2 was out the next day of its official premiere and gathered huge popularity and appreciation from viewers across the world. The episode is titled “One Absurd Day”. The episode starts with an awkward meeting between Mi-jo and Seon-woo as the latter is going to take her place for the time being. On the other hand, Joo-hee meets the owner of a new restaurant that took place of their favorite one, Hyun-joon. The episode is filled with emotional pressures that fill the lives of the three best friends.

Later in the episode, they go for a whole-body medical checkup while discussing the latest interactions with men in their respective lives. Luckily, Seon-woo spends the rest of the time with Mi-jo as he comes to meet his friend, Hyun-joon at the restaurant. The episode has showered us with various interactions between the two of them and things are surely going to be better in the near future as Mi-jo’s friends are quite excited about her progressing love life.

Interestingly, a drunk proposal made its way into this episode as well which is clearly an expected one and has made the fans go crazy. However, a twist is yet to come that will swipe the floor by our feet. The tests results of the body checkups are devastating and it clears the one doubt that is lingering in our minds about who will end up leaving the trio. The results reveal that Cha-young is suffering from a serious disease and the chances of surviving are slim as she is in her last stage. Moreover, she kept it hidden from her dear friends is what shatters Mi-jo.

The upcoming episode will be an emotional turmoil as Mi-jo will confront Cha-young about her disease and things between the friends will take a hard and unexpected turn.
