Thirty-Nine is an ongoing Korean Drama that revolves around the lives of three best friends living in their late thirties as they try to find love, warmth, happiness, and strength amidst the fact that one of them is soon going to leave them forever. Thirty-Nine Episode 5 Recap

Thirty-Nine Episode 5 was released on Wednesday, 2nd March 2022. The episode begins with a devastated Seon-woo standing outside a bar with his sister and confronting the latter. The three friends are on their way back from the nightclub where they spot the brother-sister duo. The next day, Mi-jo confronts Seon-woo about the event and the latter opens up about his sister. There, Mi-jo asks him to find her home and confront her peacefully. On the other hand, stressed up with the current situations in their lives, Mi-jo and Chan-young find themselves across each other in a subway, where they met for the first time.

While having lunch, Chan-young opens up about how hard it is for her to deal with the situation. This moment is sure to make us cry as both the friends are miserable. In the meantime, Seon-woo is able to find his sister and luckily she accepts his comfort and agrees to build up their relationship once again. However, their father is a big hindrance that will be discussed in the upcoming episodes for sure. Meanwhile, Joo-hee cooks some special food for Chan-young in Chinatown, spending a lot of time with Hyun-joon.

Later in the episode, the three friends plan things to do for Chan-young where the latter says that she just wishes to find a boyfriend for Joo-hee and Mi-jo’s biological mother, despite the resistance from the other two. Next, Chan-young visits her parents with Mi-jo after which she is left devastated as the reality of leaving them alone forever hits her hard. In the final moments of the episode, we see a cute meeting between Seon-woo’s sister and Mi-jo which is interrupted by the former’s step-father as he despises her the most.

The upcoming episode will give us an insight into the struggles of being an orphan faced by Seon-woo’s sister which is a highlight of Mi-jo’s insecurities. Moreover, Jin-seok’s wife will create problems as the group decides happiness in being together.
