The show sticks to its “story within a tale” premise, following a young beat detective named Danner as she tries to solve a murder case that Aldrin is investigating. Things appear to be going smoothly at first, with Danner even apprehending a suspect. Despite the fact that the suspect is found to be innocent, Aldrin continues to persecute them. Danner, realizing he only cares about himself, submits contradictory evidence, allowing the culprit to walk free. Of course, Danner becomes an outcast in her precinct as a result of this.

The Afterparty Episode 7 Ending Explained: Has Detective Danner Solved the Case? What are the Loose Ends?

See The Afterparty Episode 7 Ending Explained here. Back in the present, the detective wraps off her account by implying that giving suspects the benefit of the doubt is sometimes necessary. Culp isn’t convinced and reveals that Aniq has been listening in on their chat all along. Danner glances about, irritated until he sees the open entrance of the recording studio. She proclaims that she has solved the case, seemingly inspired, as Culp looks on, perplexed. Moments later, the show ends with a short glimpse of Zoe yelling at Brett in frustration while covering her small daughter’s ears.

So, has Danner genuinely solved the crime, or is this just another ruse to buy more time and divert Culp’s attention away from the investigation? Though we don’t know what the apparent connection is that Danner has established, it appears that the detective has solved the case. She’s not bluffing, as evidenced by the fact that she notices the studio door and establishes a connection between it and Xavier’s death. At the same time, a panicked Aniq (who believes he is about to be imprisoned) tells Zoe that he doesn’t understand how someone could have killed Xavier while he (Aniq) was so close to the late celebrity’s bedroom.

As a result, there seems to be a link between Aniq’s prior hiding in the studio and the show’s major murder mystery. This is the link that Danner appears to have made, which could take her to the killer. Danner also recognizes that she hasn’t interviewed one individual at the party, indicating that, for the first time, she isn’t just picking suspects at random but has an idea about how the crime was committed.

Of course, there are some loose ends, such as the wig discovered next to Xavier’s body under his balcony and Jennifer 2’s continued absence. The investigator, on the other hand, appears unconcerned about the little issues and is last seen preparing to rip the main mystery wide open.

Who Has Detective Danner Not Interviewed Yet?

Of course, the detective does not interview many people at the party at first, focusing on Xavier’s closest childhood friends and colleagues. Jennifer 1, the most renowned guest who has yet to be interviewed, may have gotten the benefit of the doubt due to her late pregnancy. Danner, on the other hand, might wind up interviewing Jennifer 1 in the next episode.

Things could turn ugly for Jennifer 1 if Danner is confident in his ability to solve the case. The only other person Danner hasn’t interviewed is Zoe and Brett’s little kid, which is intriguing. But how could the young girl have anything to do with the murder?

Is Zoe’s Daughter Connected to Xavier’s Murder?

The final scene of episode 7 raises a slew of suspicions about who might have been responsible for Xavier’s death. Though nothing incriminating regarding Zoe’s daughter has been disclosed thus far, it appears that the small girl may have accidentally caused the celebrity to tumble from his balcony. The fact that Zoe’s kid appears just after Danner reveals that she has missed a suspect suggests that the unsuspecting young girl may have knowledge of the murder. It’s only that no one has thought to ask the child who may have the answers everyone is seeking.
