Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla’s daughter Anjali passed UPSC Civil Services Examination in the first attempt

Anjali Birla, daughter of Lok Sabha Speaker, has achieved success in Civil Services Examination 2019 organized by Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). Anjali is the younger daughter of Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla and Dr. Amita Birla.
It is worth mentioning that the result of the Civil Services Examination came on August 4, but at that time the result of 829 candidates was declared as against 927 vacancies. The second list of the remaining 89 candidates was released on Monday. Anjali is at number 67 in this list. As demanded by the Department of Personnel and Training, the Commission has now recommended 89 candidates to fill the remaining posts on the basis of the 2019 Civil Services Examination.

After finishing 12th in Arts from Sofia School of Kota, she got a degree in Political Science (Hons) from Ramjas College, Delhi. After this, she spent one year in Delhi and prepared for UPSC examination.

In a conversation with a TV channel, Anjali said that she prepared for 10 to 12 hours per day. For the exam, she had chosen political science and IR (International Relations) subjects.

Anjali said that parents in Kota usually encourage children to take Biology or Maths, while there is a big world apart from both these subjects. I had not set any goal other than the Civil Services Examination.
