Who Was Conrad’s Girlfriend From Ohio? Is Lily Based on a Real Person? Well, this is the question that is causing people’s minds to whirl these days. So, let’s delve a little more into this individual’s life to learn more about who he is and who his girlfriend is. As a result, ‘The Girl from Plainsville’ chronicles the tragic narrative of Conrad Roy III’s suicide, as well as the likelihood that his lover, Michelle, encouraged him to commit suicide. The Hulu miniseries spans two timelines: one chronicles Conrad and Michelle’s relationship from their first meeting to his death, and the other chronicles the aftermath of his death.
Conrad appears to be in contact with another girl named Lily in the first few episodes before meeting Michelle. He claims to want to travel to Ohio to meet her, so things appear to be serious. When things don’t go as planned, Conrad’s focus shifts to Michelle. He is, however, clearly still furious about Lily. Given how much of the program is based on true events, here’s what we learned about Lily and who Conrad’s Ohio girlfriend (as represented on the show) might be.
Who Was Conrad’s Girlfriend From Ohio?
Conrad meets Michelle on the show while visiting his great-aunt in Florida, who happens to be friends with Michelle’s grandma. He is, however, preoccupied, staring at his phone with anticipation and sending messages to which he does not appear to receive a response. We learn a few additional information when Conrad’s father informs him during lunch that he will not be able to see his “friend,” Lily, in Ohio. Conrad is disappointed, but his father stands fast, claiming that Lily’s father (whom Conrad’s mother spoke with over the phone) did not approve of the teenage boy visiting his daughter. Lily and Conrad met online; it is also discovered. As a result, Conrad continues to message Lily, who now lives in Ohio but receives no response.

When he eventually receives a call from Lily’s phone, it is her father who tells him to stop phoning his daughter. Finally, it looks like Conrad has moved on from his Ohio friend and has turned his attention to Michelle, with whom he forms a disastrous bond. Lily appears to be Conrad’s first prospective girlfriend based on his behavior; however, their friendship appears to be interrupted short. Conrad appears to have eyes for Michelle by then. Thus Lily’s further messages are ignored. Though we don’t learn much more about Lily, it’s evident that Conrad’s brief online and phone interactions with her fill him with hope, which quickly turns to frustration when things don’t work out.
Is Lily Based on a Real Person?
It’s unknown if Lily’s character is based on a real person, but it’s a possibility. If the show’s depiction of Lily is accurate, Conrad met her online, and their connection was likely restricted to phone calls and emails (which is also prescient of how he and Michelle largely communicated soon after). Conrad was in Florida in 2012, so there aren’t going to be very many traces of his messages with Lily (or a similar real-life person on who Lily could be based). As a result, it’s uncertain if Lily is based on a real person. Since the Hulu series claims to have dramatized parts of the story, Lily could be fictional. Regardless of whether she was inspired by a real person or not, the focus of the show is on what transpired after Conrad met Michelle in Florida.
