Lucas, the man who bought Lee’s motorcycle, repairs and prepared it for the competition. Despite this, Elizabeth is concerned about his extremely daring behavior and tries to warn him. On the day of the race, as Nathan and Lucas set off on their preset course, the Hope Valley residents become delighted spectators.

Unfortunately, Lucas’ motorcycle breaks down in the middle of the race, and he falls behind Nathan and Sergeant. He’ll also have to walk the rest of the way home on his motorcycle. All of this excitement convinces Lucas that Elizabeth and little Jack are the sources of his true happiness, and he decides to temper his adventurous spirit in order to settle down. He and Elizabeth had an emotional conversation in which they hinted at getting married in the future, cementing their bond.
