Following the success of the comedy series The Last Bus, fans have expressed a desire to discover more about what happened in the series. As a result, we’ve written this page to explain The Last Bus’ ending. Well, Netflix’s science-fiction adventure comedy series ‘The Last Bus’ harkens back to the days of teen and young-adult entertainment. Since the release of ‘The Hunger Games,’ the genre has become synonymous with darkness and nihilism.
Instead, it is upbeat and sincere, attempting to tell a positive tale. All of this is achieved while the show’s creators strive to make each character a fully realized individual. Robert Sheehan, who is well-known for his performance in ‘The Umbrella Academy,’ brings his natural charisma to the character of Dalton Monkhouse, an eccentric and possibly insane billionaire who appears to be vaporizing billions of people in a fanatical endeavour to save the earth. Here, in this article, we have discussed all you need to know about the first season finale of ‘The Last Bus.’
The Last Bus Season 1 Recap
Episode 1 of the series takes place at Monkhouse Dynamics. One of the egg-shaped A.I. orbs later discovered to be genie orbs, escapes from the facility after being dropped by an employee. Meanwhile, Braelawn Academy pupils are preparing for a mysterious launching event at Monkhouse Dynamics. One of the children, Nas (Moosa Mostafa), has won an essay contest on Monkhouse and will be present at the event with his classmates. Mr. Short is a good science teacher at Braelawn. He is responsible for the protection of the students.
When the bus that would take the students to Monkhouse Dynamics arrives, it is discovered to be not just a double-decker but also in poor condition. Nas’ older sister Sophie (Phoebe De Silva); Sophie’s best friend Misha (Lauryn Ajufo); Tom (Daniel Frogson), who is the son of a soldier and a member of a gang of bullies; Danny (Curtis Kantsa), Tom’s friend and the gang’s leader; Josh (Nathanael Saleh), a boy younger than Tom and Sophie; Bethan (Carys John).
Nas is a budding scientist who idolizes Monkhouse, a scientist and inventor who specializes in artificial intelligence. Nas is separated from the rest of the gang at Monkhouse Dynamics and is sent to the facility specified. He collides with the orb that had previously eluded him. In the meantime, Monkhouse appears as a hologram in several locations and gives a terrible speech accusing mankind of destroying the planet’s nature. He then calls his army of genie orbs, who fired a powerful energy beam at everyone in the audience, instantly vanishing them. Before leaving, Mr. Short encourages Tom to save as many as he can.
Anyone who is blasted by the energy beam is quickly cremated, the survivors begin to believe. After seeing Danny’s electric vehicle by the side of the road, they come to the conclusion that he has met the same death. When they go home, they find out that their parents have gone to their school to evacuate the students. When they reach at Braelawn, they discover that Monkhouse’s intention was to gather all of their parents in one place so he could use the genie orbs on them as well. In the hopes of finding other grownups, the gang decides to go to Wallgate, a military barracks where Tom’s father appears to have left him a voicemail.

They discover that Monkhouse has begun massively reforesting the planet with the genie orbs. The group arrives at Monkhouse’s mansion in episode 9, which turns out to be his residence. The Last Bus Ending: Where Is Everyone Else? Have They Been Vaporized / Killed?
Those who were zapped by the energy beam have survived. In the season 1 conclusion, Monkhouse reveals to Tom, Nas, and the others that the orbs transferred individuals, including their parents, to sleep centers all across the planet and placed them in stasis pods. They’ll sleep until global carbon levels hit an optimal average, which may take a century or more. Each of these constructions has the capacity to hold 100 million people. The entire initiative, dubbed the Harvest by Monkhouse, was clearly a big success. Monkhouse may not be a mass murderer, but he is incarcerating billions of people. Borb is kidnapped, reactivated, and used against Nas and the others. Much to his surprise, it didn’t work at all, and he is captured.
Who Is Lucy?
Shortly after the protagonists have captured Monkhouse, a figure with a black hood walks into the house. After watching them enter on the security cameras, Sophie, Tom, and Misha confront him. As the figure removes their hood, Danny, who is now working with a female named Lucy, is revealed (Lara McDonnell). She is revealed to be Monkhouse’s estranged daughter. After learning of her father’s deeds, she has come to collect her inheritance. When it comes to lying, Lucy is even nastier than her father. She wants to use his Nexus Key, the tool that Monkhouse uses to control everything in Monkhouse Dynamics, to decide who wakes up and who does not.
Dalton leaves the house on his stasis pod after commencing the molecular implosion process. Everyone else is free to depart, including Danny and Lucy. When Borb rejoins the gang, he makes the bus fly. The Nexus Key has been earned by the group, but it is genetically linked to Monkhouse’s genetics, allowing it to be used only by Monkhouse and Lucy. The eight friends decide to track down their parents and save the world. In the closing scene, Monkhouse is revealed to have washed up on a beach. There’s a good chance that one of his facilities is close by.
