Shikimori’s Not Just A Cutie Episode 2 brings back the series that had the best launch last week. What does the season’s finest romance have in store for us this time around? In this review, we’ll find out!
Shikimori’s Not Just A Cutie Episode 2 Overview
Shikimori’s Not Just A Cutie, or Kawaii Dake Ja Nai Shikimori-san in Japanese, is a comedy, romance, and slice-of-life anime based on a manga by Keigo Maki that was serialized in Magazine Pocket. Studio Doga Kobo, whose earlier series have had similar themes and appealed to a similar audience as Shikimori-san, is bringing it to the medium of anime. Doga Kobo’s portfolio includes Plastic Memories and Monthly Girls’ Nozaki Kun.
Ryouta Itou, who has previously directed shows such as My Senpai is Annoying and worked on animation for a number of others, is directing the series. Kawaii Dake Ja Nai Shikimori-san Episode 2 is another name for this episode.
Shikimori’s Not Just A Cutie Episode 2 Review- A Warm Hug
Let us begin by wishing all of the members of Studio Doga Kobo well and a swift recovery from the current COVID-19 scare. Let us all hope that they are able to fully recover from the disease and that their work is not significantly hampered as a result. They’ve done a fantastic job with Shikimori-san thus far, and we can only hope that they’ll keep it up. One would think that after three years, the globe would be free of COVID, but unfortunately.
Shikimori Episode 2 was like receiving a loving embrace. It warmed the hearts and souls of many who saw it, and it maintained the fantastic form it had set the week before. It’s the kind of show that makes your week better just by existing, and it’s the kind you look forward to watching after a rough day. It’s a show that could merely repeat different permutations of the same episode and still be one of the nicest things on television due to how warm and relaxing it is to watch. This is a sure-fire formula, and it would be difficult to screw it wrong.
Obviously, the show didn’t screw it up! Shikimori’s Not Just A Cutie Episode 2 was just as entertaining and uplifting as the first, with our favourite couple, Izumi and Shikimori, cheering each other on as they competed in sporting contests. Naturally, one of them was more capable than the other, but none of them seems to mind. They’re both rooting for each other to accomplish their best, and even if they don’t, the other will still be there for them. This is what makes viewing it so relaxing, knowing that nothing can possibly go wrong.
Izumi is the type of person who, if it weren’t for his terrible luck, would have no luck at all. His bad luck is always putting him down, but that isn’t what makes him sad. He is troubled by how much of his friends’ lives revolve around saving him from his misfortunes, even if they are eager to do so on a regular basis. Despite nearly dying several times, he is concerned about the harm he is inflicting others, which is what makes him the cinnamon roll he is. Shikimori-san Episode 2 delves more into his friendship with Shikimori and his other pals, and it’s lovely to watch them just hanging around.
All of this isn’t to argue that the show is without flaws. The most obvious is that Shikimori’s personality hasn’t been defined much beyond “excellent at everything” and “good human being.” The analogies to Marin Kitagawa fall flat at this point because Marin was a much more defined figure. She had goals, preferences, and flaws, to name a few. I’d prefer watch Izumi and Shikimori interact, but it’s difficult to deny that Kitagawa is a far better-written character. However, there is still time to change it.
Verdict
Shikimori’s Not Just A Cutie Episode 2 was just as adorable and uplifting as the previous episode. This one’s allure will be difficult to resist, so expect nothing but good times.
