Greg has also received other honours, including induction into the World Golf Hall of Fame in 2001.

Greg Norman’s Post-Retirement Life

Greg Norman never officially retired, but at the age of 48, he limited his playing time after two consecutive knee surgery in October 2005 and February 2006. According to reports, he last competed in a Professional Golfers’ Association of America (PGA) competition in 2012. In addition, he declined to play in the Senior Champions Tour in 2015, preferring to concentrate on his various business activities. Apart from his illustrious career as a professional golfer, Greg Norman is the CEO and Chairman of the Greg Norman Company, which owns and operates a number of businesses.

The company was started in 1993 as the Great White Shark Enterprises and now has a diverse portfolio of businesses in fashion, golf course design, real estate, wine production, interior design, and private equity. Greg created his unique shark emblem in 1991, which was licenced by Reebok, and launched his clothing brand the following year. In addition, he has assisted in the design of over 100 golf courses around the world and, in 2017, he launched the Shark Experience, a touchscreen-enabled golf cart.

Not only that, but he and his son co-own two Shark Wake Park wakeboarding facilities, and his daughter Morgan oversees the winemaking. The Greg Norman Company has a number of collaborations and investments with firms such as Alchemy Global, Qantas, Cobra Golf, and OMEGA in addition to its own ventures.

Greg organises the QBE Shootout, a PGA Tour team golf event whose earnings benefit the CureSearch National Childhood Cancer Foundation, every year. He also oversees the Greg Norman Golf Foundation, which his parents established. In educational institutions around Queensland, Australia, the organisation provides expert training and aid to aspiring young golfers and students with special physical challenges.

Where is Greg Norman Now?

Greg introduced the notion of a World Golf Tour in 1993-94, which would choose the best players for high-stakes and small-field events on both circuits. The PGA, on the other hand, rejected his intentions, putting the formation of a new league on hold. “It still annoyed me to death that, as an independent contractor, I couldn’t get out there and expand on my genuine market worth that I truly felt I had,” he said in an interview regarding the PGA’s severe limits. The same goes for the rest of the players.”

As a result, Greg decided to leave his job at the Greg Norman Company in 2021 to pursue this ambition full-time. “That was a big, enormous decision because that’s how much I believe in this,” he said in another interview regarding this major decision. That’s how confident I am in the individuals that have worked tirelessly to bring it to the point where we are now, and where we will be live and throwing the first ball in the air in the [spring] of next year.”

The legendary golfer also revealed his engagement with Liv Golf Investments, a company that invests in various golf enterprises and has pledged a nine-figure sum to assist the Asian Tour in hosting an additional ten events over the next decade. The PIF, Saudi Arabia’s sovereign wealth fund, backs LIV Golf Investments. Greg is currently recruiting players for a huge tournament scheduled for June 2022. In 2021, he was named the lead analyst for SiriusXM’s golf event play-by-play broadcasts.

Aside from business, Greg triumphed in a struggle with Covid-19 in 2020. He lives in Hobe Sound, Florida, with his wife Kirsten and their dog, and travels back and forth from Australia for his professional obligations. He also enjoys spending time with his family, which includes his parents, two daughters, and three grandchildren.
