SoCs announced by Qualcomm: 632, 439 and 429

After presenting the Snapdragon 710 SoC for mid-range smartphones, the American semiconductor chipset manufacturer Qualcomm today launched the Snapdragon 632, Snapdragon 439 and Snapdragon 429 mobile platforms. These new chipsets  will mark their way through upcoming mid-range and low-end devices. Following the Snapdragon 600 and 400 chipsets that are used in more than 3,650 devices available in the market, here are the innovations of each range.

Qualcomm Snapdragon 632

The 14nm built Snapdragon 632 mobile platform is notable for the octa-core processor which includes four high performance Kryo 250 cores operating at 1.8 GHz. Four other standouts are even more energy-efficient (though slower) , the Kryo 250 and operating at 1.8 GHz.

The SD632 promises 40% better performance than the Snapdragon 626. It includes the Adreno 605 graphics card and the X9 LTE ​​modem. It stands out the support for screens FHD +. This chipset supports a single 24-megapixel camera or two 13-inch cameras. Smartphones equipped with the Snapdragon 632 can support some advanced camera features, such as real-time bokeh effects, wide-angle photo capture and 4K video capture. The SND 632 also supports dual 4G VoLTE.

Snapdragon 439

Developed for low-cost smartphones, the Snapdragon 439 is a 12 nm built chipset that includes 4 Cortex A53 chips operating at 1.9 GHz and other 4 Cortex A53 chips running at 1.45 GHz. Adreno 505 graphics card and the X6 LTE modem are attached to it. The main features are support for 4G VoLTE, single camera 21 megapixels or dual camera with 8 megapixels sensor. FHD + screen is also supported. The SND 439 delivers 25% better performance than the Snapdragon 430.

Snapdragon 429

The Snapdragon 429 is built on a 12 nm FinFET proces that includes 4 Cortex A53 processors operating at 1.95 GHz. Adreno 504 graphics card and the X6 LTE modem are attached to the HD + display stand. It supports dual 4G VoLTE, single camera up to 16 megapixels and dual camera up to 8 megapixels. It can perform 25% better than Snapdragon 425. The three Snapdragon chipsets are equipped with multiple security solutions and also support mobile payments, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and eMBMS. In addition, they are designed to consume less power and ensure more efficient battery performance.

Snapdragon 632, 439 and 429 smartphones are expected to be launched in the second half of the year.
