The couple had to live in separate residences due to medical concerns. On July 11, 2019, at about 4:30 p.m., a neighbour contacted 911 to inquire about Bill’s well-being. Bill hadn’t been seen in a few days, and his automobile had vanished. When the cops arrived, they found no evidence of forced entry into the house. Bill was found severely battered to death inside the house, in the bathroom. He had many blunt force injuries, including roughly 27 impact wounds to the skull, according to an autopsy.

Who Killed Bill DuBois?

The motive appeared to be a robbery. Aside from Bill DuBois’ automobile, the house was devoid of his wallet, smartphone, two televisions, a microwave, and other personal items. Given Bill’s health difficulties, the cops learned that his car had a tracking system from Susan. This became critical, and they tracked down the vehicle that same evening, detaining Taylor Cynthia Elkins in the process. Taylor made contradictory statements to the police throughout the investigation. She said it was given to her by a white man at first before subsequently claiming Bill gave it to her in exchange for sexual favours. However, officials later discovered that Taylor was the one who robbed Bill a few days before he was discovered dead.

She admitted to a plot to steal from the victim in a later statement, claiming she was going to knock on the door, then another male would walk in and remove items. Aside from that, Taylor’s grandfather, who lived next door to Bill, informed authorities that she visited him after leaving Bill’s. Taylor allegedly stated that she “knocked him in the head,” referring to Bill. Taylor also spoke to another inmate while incarcerated, admitting to beating the 72-year-old with a hammer after becoming enraged because he didn’t have any money. Taylor then allegedly disposed of the hammer, according to this inmate. She later pawned the two televisions from the house.
